Quite frankly, it's my hope to be a change agent within this world one day. I'm aware that many people have done their fair share of heroism, philanthropy and so much more within this world. But the cries for help just seem to be getting even louder. Often, we as individuals speak on change but fail horribly at first becoming the change that we want to see within this world or just our communities in general. My hope within this article is to raise awareness for Homelessness and every voice that has been muffled by humiliation and shame. Often there's this ignorance and stigma that homelessness has to have a certain look, scent, culture, race, financial status, family dynamic etc. But what happens when homelessness begins in your own back yard? What happens when homelessness works at the same firm as you? What happens when the colleague that's always known for staying late at the office filing paperwork; really just has no place to call home? What happens when homelessness is right under the bridge you drive under every day?  What happens when homelessness resides on the benches or even in the parks that you take your children to? What happens when the neighbor you grew so fond of and lived next door to for over 15 years in your nice Surburban area loses their multimillion-dollar corporation? What happens when you find out that the man that sleeps by the church stairs everyday lost his family in a fire, yet he never seemed to heal or recover? Or how about the stock market plunges, or the bread winner of your own household falls sick?  We fail to realize that by the grace of God many have not been affected by homelessness, but we also fail to realize that many have. From youth to young adults, adults to senior citizens and even veterans that have fought for your very own country have and are sadly enduring homelessness. Let's be honest; in a world where everyone is constantly going and enduring their own struggles within life not many people make time to go into the trenches to see about others. But what would happen if we lived in a world where helping, hearing and loving others were normalized? What would happen if we took 15 minutes out of our day or away from our own chaotic schedules and made time for one person? What would happen if we stepped away from the desk, put the cell phone down and decided to show up for someone we know or don't know? What would happen if we all decided to speak life into someone despite knowing or not knowing their situation,  some of you may reply to these questions by saying that "the next persons issues aren't my issues" and by no means should any of us try to play God in the lives of others, but we all have been purposed for greater and maybe your greater is going into new and unfamiliar territory, saving lives, drawing those lives closer to Christ, encouraging and compelling those that are faced with diverse trials to believe, stay strong and see themselves beyond their struggles and current circumstance. Throughout this page you'll be able to embark and read many personal testimonies from those that are currently facing homelessness or currently enduring it. It is my hope that through this article and page that those currently facing homelessness will find their voice and understand that they are just as important as those that are housed. It is my hope that you are compelled to go out into your community, your neighborhood, the schools located around you, even on your job and be willing to help those that may have faced a catastrophic event. Homelessness doesn't always have a look, a carboard sign, a street corner, nor the strength to ask for help. This new series is one of many that I am beyond elated to embark on. It is my hope to give courage, love an upliftment to those that may feel as though life has handed them everything but that. may you be encouraged and compelled by this up-and-coming series to help and love those amongsdt you even if they don't look like you...........Stay Tuned!
